YOUNG DANCER OF THE YEAR

First prize: Tudor Rose Challenge Cup and Bursary of £300, Runner-up: Runner-Up Cup and Bursary of £150, All Other Finalists: Bursary of £75

 

1. Dancers aged 13 years and over will be invited to perform in this competition by the adjudicator on the basis of their work during the festival and will be notified when they have been selected.

2. Finalists will be required to perform two dances, selected by the adjudicator - one Classical (Ballet, Greek, Global, Narrative / Character, Contemporary or Modern Ballet) and the other one Stage (Jazz / Modern, Lyrical, Musical Theatre or Tap).  Dance Rules as stated will apply, including time limits.

3. The winner of the previous year’s bursary will not be eligible for this section.

THE PHYLLIS WALKER MEMORIAL BURSARY

First prize: Phyllis Walker Memorial Bursary Cup & £150, Runner-up: Judy Armour Memorial Bursary Runner-Up Cup & £75, All Other Finalists: Bursary of £40.

 

1. The two dancers from each of the following age groups – 9, 10, 11 & 12 years (approximately eight dancers in total) who have achieved the highest aggregate scores in the Ballet and Jazz / Modern sections will qualify to perform in this competition.

2. The finalists will be required to perform both dances and a winner and runner-up will be chosen by the adjudicator.  Dance Rules as stated will apply, including time limits.

3. The winner of the previous year’s bursary will not be eligible for this section.
